Students must reflect on why we want or need to measure time. Then, they must choose one ancient instrument used to measure time and: -research its origin -create a labeled drawing -write a description of the instrument: what it looks like and how it works -give the advantages and the disadvantages of the instrument -imagine possible modifications to make the instrument modern For some of these components, students have researched the answers. For other components, students should formulate and invent their own answers. The pages students have been working on (pictured below) are the rough copy of this project. Students should create a final project, including all of their information. This final project could take any number of forms: a poster, a book, a diorama, etc...
The final projects of this Design Process are due Wednesday, March 7th.
We had a great time at Festival du Voyageur today! We got to try out some drumming and singing with an Indigenous elder, tour the snow sculptures and hear a great band from Québec! Hé Ho!
**Students should be dressed to be outside for most of the day.** **They should bring a bagged lunch with them.** **With parental permission, students may bring money to purchase snacks or souvenirs.**

We played Bingo, Scattergories, had a drawing contest, searched for hidden hearts around the class, and estimated how many candies were in each bag. (The person with the closest estimation won the entire bag! Congratulations to the candy winners!)
A few weeks ago, each student was asked to write down a compliment about every student in the class. I compiled all of those compliments together to make a super Valentine.
