Field Trip Reminders!

Tomorrow, we're off to the Exchange District and the Manitoba Museum. Students will have the chance to take part in several educational tours all directly related to our Social Studies and Science outcomes!

For lunch, we'll be sitting in Old Market Square. Although students have been asked to bring a bag lunch, they may (with parental permission) purchase food and drinks from the surrounding restaurants and food trucks.

Students should be dressed for the weather and wearing comfortable walking shoes.

More Shakespeare?

If you're interested in more Shakespeare, during the Fringe Festival, you could see two great plays: Twelfth Night (presented at MTYP) or Hamlet (presented at Prairie Theatre Exchange)

Celebration of Reading!

This afternoon students celebrated how many books they read this year!

Impressive work!

We then shared our favourite titles from the year and the books we're looking forward to reading this summer.

Poetry Party!

Students gathered the poetry they wrote throughout the year into their very own Poetry Anthology! It was fun to reread poems from earlier in the year!

Math is Fun!

This morning in math, students competed in a game of Q-Bitz. Each team had sixteen cubes that have to be arranged in order to replicate the given design. What fun!

12th Night Diagrams

Students were tasked with drawing each character from Shakespeare's play Twelfth Night and then adding lines to show how they are all interconnected. As you can see, it's complicated!

Remember to join us on June 26th at 1:40 p.m. to see our production of Twelfth Night.

Shakespeare's Alive!

Room 209 is pleased to present their version of
Shakespeare's Twelfth Night
on Tuesday, June 26th.

Every student has a role in the play and we have been working very hard to prepare for our presentations. We'll be preforming for the four other grade 6 classes!

Parents: you are cordially invited to join us for our performance in the library at 1:40 p.m!

Quel beau travail!

CFOO!

In Français, it's time for our LAST CFOO (Le Club Fabuleux des Orateurs et Oratrices)!
This is a public speaking "club" that will help students improve their oral French skills through short speeches.
For this last time around, students can choose any one of the presentation options that they have not already presented. They will prepare their short oral presentation, fulfilling all of the criteria (listed on the page they have in their binder).
Students should also keep in mind eye contact, volume and expression during their presentation.

The CFOO Presentations will take place on Monday, June 11th and Tuesday, June 12th.
