CFOO!

In Français, it's time for another CFOO (Le Club Fabuleux des Orateurs et Oratrices)!
This is a public speaking "club" that will help students improve their oral French skills through short speeches.
This time around, students can choose any one of the presentation options that they have not already presented. They will prepare their short oral presentation, fulfilling all of the criteria (listed on the page they have in their binder).
Students should also keep in mind eye contact, volume and expression during their presentation.

The CFOO Presentations will take place on Tuesday, April 24th and Wednesday, April 25th.

Homework Alert!

Speechtastic Presentations start tomorrow!

From the English Department...

In English Language Arts, we have been exploring poetry, by reading a variety of poems and picking out our favourite verses.

We also worked together to write some collaborative poetry.

From the Math Department...

In Math, we are learning about percents. Yesterday we drew our names and calculated the percent, the decimal number and the fraction of each letter.

Today, in collaborative groups, we drew pictures representing different percents. For example: draw 10 animals, 50% are small and 60% have tails.

Pink Shirt Day!

Thanks to those who wore pink today to stand up against bullying.

Speechtastic!

It's time for another Speechtastic!

This time, students are preparing a Persuasive Speech. They have chosen a topic and are planning a 2-5 minute speech to convince the audience of their opinion. They should be sure to have an introduction, a middle (with all their arguments supported by details) and a conclusion.

Students are reminded to add their personality and really make the speech their own!

Presentations are Thursday, April 12th and Friday, April 13th.
